The country has been favoured by its geographical position in South-Eastern Europe, by its proximity to the Black Sea, as well as by the specificity of the local soil and climate. Alongside France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Romania could also be called "a vine homeland" in Europe.

Day 1
Arrival in Bucharest

Meet your guide in Bucharest! Get transfered from the airport to your hotel, centrally located. The guide will give you a tour of the city.

The tour includes the most interesting sights and architectural buildings in Bucharest. 

Highlights:

Free Press Square - The Arch of Triumph - Victoriei Square - Calea Victoriei - Revolution Square (Romanian Atheneum, Revolution's Memorial) - The Palace of Parliament (the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon) - Union Square - Universitatii Square - Romana Square - Victoriei Square - Charles de Gaulle Square - The village Museum (an open-air ethnographic museum located in Herastrau Park, being one of the biggest and oldest outdoors museums in Europe)

Of course, we will not miss the Old Town!

The Old Town part of Bucharest, also called Lipscani after the main street that crosses the area, is so much filled with bars, pubs and restaurants, that sometimes it’s nearly impossible to choose the best place for dancing and having fun with friends.

Day 2
Bucharest – Stefanesti vineyard – Sibiu – Sibiel

Breakfast at the hotel. Leave Bucharest and drive to Sibiu, along Olt river.

Winetasting and lunch at Stefanesti-Arges.

The Stefanesti Wineyard is 10 km away from the town of Pitesti. First mentioned as early as the year 330 B.C., in a writing of the Greek historian Diodorus Siculus, the vineyard was reffered to in several medieval chronicles of Wallachia since 1388.
It mainly produces high quality wines like Feteasca Alba, Sauvignon Blanc, high quality red wines like Cabernet Sauvignon and Burgund Mare, as well as flavoured wines like Tamaioasa Romaneasca.
 
In the evening short sightseeing of Sibiu: Defence Wall, the Stairs', the Gate's, the Drapers', the Potters', the Carpenter's, the powder Mill Towers, Thick Tower, Council Tower.
 
In the evening we drive to Sibiel - a pitoresque Romanian village well-known for its Icons on Glass Museum: one of the most important collections of glass painting, with valuable icons from many regions of Romania. Accommodation and dinner at gueshouse included. Traditional food and drinks.

Day 3
Sibiel - Blaj - Sighisoara - Brasov - Bran (280km)
Breakfast. Departure for Blaj/Jidvei, in the Alba county, lying between the two Tarnava rivers. We will visit Viticultural research stations in the countryside, with grapevine samples and wine cellars. Winetasting followed by lunch in Blaj/Jidvei: Feteasca Regala, Italian Riesling, Pinot Gris and Muscat Ottonel. 
 
Drive to Sighisoara, the lively European medieval town whose old houses and edifices are still functional and well preserved. We will visit Medieval fortifications (12th-17th Century) among which Council Tower/Clock Tower at present History Museum, Hill Church, Vlad Dracul's House, Venetian House, Wooden Covered Staircase, Old Ladies'Corridor. 
 
Drive to Brasov in the afternoon. We will discover together the city of Brasov - where Vlad led raids against the German Saxons. We will visit the medieval part of the city with: The Black Church, The Town Hall, The Black Tower, Ecaterina’s Gate and the Rope Street – the narrowest street in Europe.
 
After we visit Brasov, we will check-in in a vila in famous rural area close to Brasov, Bran village.
Day 4
Bran - Azuga Wine Cellars - Sinaia

Breakfast at the hotel.

Visit Dracula’s Castle in Bran. The castle came to be connected with the legend of Dracula the Vampire. It was built between 1377 and 1382, on a 60 m high rock with a strategic, military and commercial purpose. The building has four towers positioned at the four cardinal points. The walls are made of stone blocks, the rooms and narrow corridors constitute a mysterious labyrinth of ghostly nooks and secret chambers, whilst in the inner courtyard there are artesian wells, connected to an underground network. The castle had both a military and a customs point purpose.

Visit Sinaia, the "Pearl of the Carpathians" with Peles Castle one of Romania's most beautiful palaces once the summer residence of the Romanian kings.

Peles Castle is the most notable residents Romanian Royal family, one of the most beautiful castles in Eastern Europe. A testimony to the 19th century ruler's refinement, the wonderful edifice was built after the wish of Romania's first king, Carol I, and it happily mingled everything that was most beautiful and representative about the neo-Renaissance. Located on Peles brook valley, on the spot named Pietrele Arse (the Burnt Stones), the Peles Castle was built between 1875 and 1883 – when it was officially opened. 

Winetasting and lunch in Azuga: sparkling wines and champagne type wines, produced after the traditional "champenoise" method. The wine cellars from Azuga were built in 1892, by the Rhein family, official supplier for the royal court.
Day 5
Sinaia – Dealu Mare vineyards

After breakfast, we will continue our trip to visit one of the most famous region of vineyards in Romania: Dealu Mare region. 

We will visit the wine cellars from Dealu Mare region, like Museum "Crama 1777",  Bellu Mansion, Basilescu Cellar and Apogeum Cellar. The tourism and hospitality here display artifacts which testify the old tradition of wine-growing in these parts of Romania. The typical warm, dry microclimate and the rather long autumns favor rich grape crops of good quality. The soils rich in ferric oxides are particulary suitable for red and black sorts as: Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Feteasca Neagra.

Day 6
Dealu Mare – Panciu - Bucharest
Today we will visit Panciu - Odobesti vineyard, one of largest and oldest in Romania.
 
The wide variety of wines produced by the Odobesti vineyard makes it the most traditional wine-growing area in Romania, with six traditional sorts of Romanian wine, namely: Galbena de Odobesti, Plavaie, Feteasca Alba, and Feteasca Regala (white wines) and Babeasca neagra (red wines).
 
We will visit "The Royal Cellars", between other large cellars, comissioned by the Moldavian prince Mihai Sturza (1839).
 
Winetasting and lunch in Panciu/Odobesti.
 
Arrival in Bucuresti in the afternoon. Accommodation in a 3* hotel (possibly close to the airport, if the departure is next day).
Day 7
Bucharest – Departure
Breakfast buffet at the hotel.
 
Transfer to Bucharest International Airport for departure.
