Where to travel in 2026?

It's the beginning of the year...you already plan ahead on where you will be going... right? Or wait, haven't you decided yet?! It's not too let to get some inspiration and prepare some amazing experiences. Wonderful places are waiting ahead!

Taking some time off for travel could be easy... but what is hard is deciding where to go? And also, what to do? Let us give you some ideas, based on our first-hand experiences as travel experts in Romania!

We have seen a surge in tourists lately in Romania and it's definitely for a good reason! Eastern Europe is trending now as a major new hotspot for interesting travels for people who probably have already seen plenty of famous destinations and are now looking for something new, a less obvious choice. But a place like this has plenty to offer and can actually be even more interesting, because it's probably not as well known, being kept under-the-radar until now.

Romania is a good destination for less crowded travel, a place where you can actually breathe, relax and enjoy your vacation, not get all hurried up to check everything on a list of objectives.

Our approach is very people-focused with purposeful experiences together! We are suggesting that you should take a kind of restorative escape after years of overstimulation and discover a land that is at the same time calm but full of life!

So, where to?

1. Biertan and Viscri villages

Right in the heart of Romania there are 2 villages where you will feel transported back in time. The fact that they are UNESCO sites adds to the charm! The way people live here is so untouched and mesmerizing. You will be welcomed as one of them and they will show you everything, their homes, their food, their crafts. You can even ride in their horse-drawn carriage. Isn't that bucket list worthy?!

2. Barsana Church

Maramures region as a whole is a heaven on Earth... but to be even more specific and close to heaven, we suggest you visit Barsana Church on a Sunday morning for the Sunday service. It's serene, filled with people wearing traditional-costumes and surrounded by nature. You can also get the chance to try their costumes on and learn their crafts.

3. Cluj-Napoca

To change it up a bit, especially if you are more into city-break style of travelling, we suggest you visit Cluj-Napoca city in the summer, when the famous music festivals "Untold" and "Electric Castle" take place. That is when this city gets so full of life and entertainment because people from all over the world come to enjoy Romania's "youth capital"!

5. Brasov

Another city worth mentioning is the famous Brasov! It's close to Bucharest so you can do a city-break with 2 cities combined. If you will visit them both you will definitely see how different they are, each fascinating in their own way! Brasov brings a totally different kind of flair: medieval history that attracts a lot of people nowadays.

6. Danube Delta

We probably kept what's best for last... Listen, you have to visit Danube Delta at least once in your lifetime! It's a UNESCO Reservation of the Biosphere because it's so unique and well preserved. It's like a safari in the middle of Europe! If you are passionate about nature and adventure the more time you will spend there the more disconnected from the real world and daily struggles you will feel! Pure relaxation.

These are just a fiew ideas because we like to keep it short and let your curiosity start to sparkle ✨
