Some of the city's most interesting sites are the elegant baroque buildings, spread around town and particularly along the main square, Victory Square (Piata Victoriei), which stretches from Opera Square (Piata Operei) to Loga Boulevard; in addition of this we will point out Liberty Square (Piata Libertatii) and Union Square (Piata Unirii). Impressive building are subject to be seen: the Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral, the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, The Roman Catholic Cathedral, the Baroque Palace, the Scont Bank, the Huniade Castle or the Great Synagogue. Traces of the former mosques from the period when the place was under the authority of the Ottoman Empire are visible during the walking tour.

During the afternoon we will visit "Muzeul Revolutiei" (1989 Revolution Memorial Museum). One can never forget the fact that the revolution has started here, in Timisoara. The Memorial Museum exhibits uniforms of Romanian Police (Militia) and Army, written testimonies of witnesses and participants in the Revolution, and personal documents, an audio-visual archive, a library and a collection of newspapers.
